Long Term Care

As investment and retirement planners work with their clients to assure that their savings are sufficient to allow them to live comfortably in retirement, one of the most difficult future costs to predict and provide for is the possibility of needing long-term care. Basic hospitalization policies do not pay for long term care nor does Medicare (except on a very limited basis).

Imagine the consequences of paying $70,000 - $100,000 more per year than your current living expenses call for. Many people do not buy long-term care policies because they feel as though neither they nor their spouse would utilize a nursing home and instead they plan for one spouse to take care of the other at home. It is often not known that the current policies issued today pay for both Home Care and Nursing Home expenses. Having a policy that covers both contingencies makes it possible for the one needing care to receive the care.
